Krakow museums open on Monday. Best open places

In addition to its beautiful architecture and famous landmarks, Kraków is renowned for its rich museum offerings. Unfortunately, many museums in Kraków are closed on Mondays. Many people wonder which museums in Kraków are open on Monday. Which museum is open on Monday in Kraków?

There are about 50 real museums in Krakow (real meaning normal museums, not private museum-like creations). Most of them are closed on Mondays.

Most of the well-known museums in Kraków, Monday is a day when these museums are closed. This is the case, for example, with many branches of the National Museum as Czartoryski Museum. Fortunately, some museums are open. On the list, we only mention “non-commercial” museums. Commercial ones,some of which are just plain tourist traps, are usually open throughout the week.

Among the museums that are open on Monday in Kraków, you can list several branches of the Kraków Museum, such as:
Town Hall Tower at Main Market Square 1 (closed during the winter period);
Underground Market Square at Main Market Square (entrance in the Cloth Hall);
Old Synagogue, ul. Szeroka 24;
Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory, ul. Lipowa 4.

In the museums listed above that are open on Mondays, in most cases, Monday is also a day of free admission (more about free museum days in Kraków here).

On Monday in Kraków, some exhibitions at Wawel Castle are also open, as well as Wawel Cathedral. On Monday, among the open museums in Kraków, you can also include some branches of the Museum of the History of Photography, as well as Kościuszko Mound.

However, most of the most popular ones are closed on Monday.
