How much does parking cost in Kraków?

The Paid Parking Zone is divided into subzones with different hourly rates. The most expensive is Subzone A (Podstrefa A).

One hour of parking in Subzone A, which includes areas within the second ring road, as well as tourist-attractive regions like Kazimierz and Podgórze, costs 6 PLN (1.45 EUR, 1.50 USD, 1.20 GBP) per hour. One hour of parking in Subzone B is a little cheaper and costs 5 PLN per hour.

In Subzone C, the farthest from the center, the cost is 4 PLN per hour. The minimum fee for parking in Kraków is 2 PLN. The map of the zone can be found here, and an interactive map is available on the official city website. You can pay using cards in parking meters located near parking spaces.

Please note that in the area of the so-called 1st ring road (streets directly leading to the Main Square and some streets in Kazimierz) there is a zone to which only residents and permit holders are allowed to enter, and they also have reservations in hotels located in this zone. Otherwise you cannot enter.

When is parking in Kraków paid?

Many people also assume that parking is free on public holidays. In Kraków, this is not the case. Parking is free on Sundays but not on all statutory holidays.

Only a few holidays are free, including New Year’s Day, Easter Monday, All Saints’ Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day (St. Stephen’s Day).

On other statutory holidays, such as May 1st and May 3rd, parking in Kraków is paid. This has sparked significant controversy among residents.

How to pay for parking in Kraków?

Paid parking in the zone in Kraków is paid for 6 days a week. Payments in the Paid Parking Zone can be made using street parking meters or mobile apps such as SkyCash, Anypark, Mobilet, Cityparkapp, Electronicparking, Mpay, or Anypark.

Failure to pay in the Paid Parking Zone results in an additional fee of 250 PLN. However, if paid within a week of the notification, the additional fee (commonly referred to as a fine) is reduced to 150 PLN.
