Krakow is famous for being a relatively cheap tourist destination. Many people choose Krakow for their holidays precisely because the prices are lower than in places like Paris or London. Before travelling to Krakow, many people wonder how much beer costs in Krakow. What is the price of beer in Kraków? How much is beer in a shop in Krakow, Poland? How much does beer cost in a pub and restaurant in Kraków? Here are the prices of beer Kraków in 2025.

If you search the internet for information on beer prices in Krakow in 2025, you will find articles in the leading positions in which the actual prices are long out of date. The current prices are higher than you may have read on most blogs, but more on that in a moment. To begin with, the answer to the question of how much beer costs in a shop in Krakow.

How much does beer cost in Krakow?

The same as for vodka prices in Krakow is true for beer prices, i.e. there are tourist shops (more expensive) and normal shops (cheaper). For a Polish beer in a 0.5 litre bottle in a shop in Krakow, you have to pay, for example, 3.89 zlotys for Perła Export beer (0.91 EUR, 0.77 GBP, 0.94 USD). Popular Polish beers are also cheap. Beer from Żywiec or Okocim or Tyskie also cost around 4-4.20 PLN per bottle (0.94-0.99 EUR, 0.79-0.83 GBP, 0.97-1.02 USD).

Cheap Polish beers of budget brands are even cheaper. Cheap Polish beer Harnaś or Żubr can be bought for around 3 zlotys per bottle or can. We don’t recommend these types, just as we don’t recommend most Polish beers of the big concerns.

In Poland, you have to pay around 4 zloty 80 groszy for Heineken beer in a shop. A local Zywiec Porter beer costs around 5.70 zlotys. Polish beers from local breweries are more expensive and better than conglomerate beers. Corona Extra beer costs around 6 zloty for a 0.33-litre bottle in Krakow (1.41 EUR, 1.19 GBP, 1.45 USD).

You have to pay around 7 zloty 50 groszy for a beer “From the old brewery”. Craft beer from the Pinta brewery costs around 8 zloty per bottle. More expensive will be the more local craft beers, whose prices can reach as much as 10-13 zlotys per bottle or can (2.35-3.05 EUR, 1.98-2.57 GBP, 2.42-3.14 USD).

Cheaper beer in Krakow can be bought in multipacks. A four-pack of Pilsner Urquell beer will cost around 26 zlotys. A four-pack of Żywiec beer will cost around 16 zlotys and a four-pack of Zatecky beer will be bought at a similar price.

Why are the prices higher in the shop I am in?
Shops such as Carrfour Express or Żabka and other tourist shops located in the centre of Krakow (they are open on Sundays), especially on Grodzka and Floriańska streets, can be much more expensive than normal shops. For shopping it is worth going to a normal shop – Auchan, Kaufland, Lidl or Biedronka. Prices there are at a normal level.

 

As a general rule, it should be assumed that a can or bottle of mainstream beer in Krakow costs from around 3.50 to around 5 zlotys, beer from reputable companies such as Paulaner or Heineken costs around 4.50 to 9 zlotys, and local craft beers can cost between 8 and 12 zlotys. In tourist shops, prices will be higher.

How much does beer cost in bars and restaurants?

The times when a 0.5 litre beer could be bought for 8 zlotys in a pub in the main square in Krakow are long gone. Nowadays, the cheapest beers in pubs in the centre of Krakow cost around 8 zlotys, but these will be lower-end beers and 0.4 litre beers.

In most venues in the centre of Krakow, the average price of a 0.5 litre beer (in Poland this is called “duże piwo“) is 20-21 zlotys (4.69-4.93 EUR, 3.96-4.16 GBP, 4.83-5.07 USD).. What are the prices?

At Piwnica Pod Baranami, beer costs 20.99 zł and Książęce in a bottle 22.99 zł. In another trendy restaurant in Krakow, prices are Żywiec Jasne Pełne 0.5 litre 25 zł, dark for 28 zł, white for 27 zł, Zywiec porter for 30 zł (7.04 EUR, 5.94 GBP, 7.25 USD), Heineken for 26 zł, Desperados 0.4 litre for 28 zł.

In the other tourist restaurant on the Market Square in Krakow, draught Zywiec 0.3 costs 13 zlotys, 0.5 litres costs 20 zlotys, Heineken 16 zlotys for a small one and 24 zlotys for a large one. Going further a popular art club – Żywiec 0.5 for 18 zł for regular, 22 zł for flavoured and the same price of Heineken.

In a popular Italian restaurant in the Market Square in Krakow, the price of a beer is 0.4 litre for 20 zł and a bottled 0.5 for 21 zł. Finally, the price from a popular restaurant in Sukiennice Pilsner beer 0.4 litre for 19 zł, a litre for 45 zł, Książęce Złote Pszeniczne, Czerwony Lager 0.5 for 23 zł.

At the popular Plac Nowy 1 venue in Kazimierz, local craft beer costs in the region of 19 zloty for 0.25 litres, 20 zloty for 0.4 litres. At Zazie Bistro restaurant, a Paulaner costs 22 zloty and a Piwojad IPA costs 22 zloty. At the very good pizzeria Nolio, a draught beer 0.4 litre costs 18-19 zlotys. At the Gaia restaurant in the good 5* Stradom House hotel, Książęce beer in a bottle costs 22 zlotys and Pilsner Urquel costs 25 zlotys. Craft beer Piwojad costs as much as 32 zlotys there.

The further away from Krakow’s Main Market Square and the lower quality premises you choose, the cheaper the beer can be ordered, but it should be assumed that you have to pay around 20-25 zlotys for a beer in a restaurant or club in Krakow.

Beer prices in Krakow in 2025

Summary: How much does beer cost in Krakow? In a shop in Krakow, the price of a Polish beer in a bottle or can is around 4 zlotys (0.94 EUR, 0.79 GBP, 0.97 USD) for beer from mainstream producers and around 8-12 zlotys (1.88-2.82 EUR, 1.58-2.38 GBP, 1.93-2.90 USD) for craft beers from small breweries.

Prices in restaurants, clubs and pubs are higher. It is reasonable to expect to pay around 20 zlotys for a 0.5 litre beer (4.69 EUR, 3.96 GBP, 4.83 USD) in Krakow, although many trendy pubs serve smaller 0.4 litre beers and charge around 20 zlotys for them.

It is possible to find beer for +/- 15 zlotys in spelunking joints and, as they say in Polish, “mordownia”, but in most cases these will not be good beers and nice places. When choosing a restaurant or bar to go to in Krakow, always read reviews on Google or in Polish-language sources and check ratings and prices to avoid overpaying.
