Is there Uber in Zakopane in Poland?

Zakopane is a popular tourist town in southern Poland, nestled at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. The town is gaining increasing popularity among international tourists visiting Poland. Many people planning a vacation in Zakopane wonder: Is there Uber in Zakopane? Does Uber operate in Zakopane? What are the prices for Uber in Zakopane? Let’s answer these questions and explain whether you can order a taxi via the Uber app in Zakopane.

Uber in Zakopane

For many years, tourists visiting Zakopane had to rely on private bus lines and local taxis. Later, a few municipal bus lines were introduced, and the network continues to expand. For a long time, neither Uber nor Bolt was available in Zakopane. However, since 2024, Uber has been operating in Zakopane.

Although Zakopane is a small town, many visitors also travel to areas outside the town itself. Uber operates there as well. What are the prices like? Due to the short distances, Uber prices in Zakopane are not as competitive as in cities with longer routes, such as traveling from Krakow Airport to the city center.

For example, a ride from the bus station in Zakopane (where buses from Krakow arrive—click here for more info on getting to Zakopane by bus from Krakow) to a major tourist attraction like the Wielka Krokiew ski jump costs around 25-30 PLN. From the same bus station to the popular Belvedere Hotel, the fare is approximately 25 PLN.

You can also take an Uber in Zakopane to the last point before entering Tatra National Park to hike to the famous Morskie Oko lake. From the bus station in Zakopane to the parking lot near the entrance to Morskie Oko (a distance of about 20 kilometers), the Uber fare will be around 80 PLN. The farther you go in Zakopane, the more cost-effective Uber becomes.

Uber in Zakopane can also take you to the most popular thermal baths, Chochołowskie Termy. The cost of a ride from the bus station in Zakopane to Chochołowskie Termy is around 70 PLN. Since Zakopane is a small tourist town, the number of drivers may be limited, while the demand for Bolt and Uber services can be very high. Therefore, it’s always worth comparing prices in the app with those offered by local taxi drivers.

In general, Uber in Zakopane operates quite efficiently and allows even less experienced tourists to easily navigate both the town and its surrounding attractions.
