At which station to get off the train to Wieliczka Salt Mine?

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is located not far from Krakow. The only major attraction of Wieliczka near Krakow attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. Most people know that the best way to get from Krakow to Wieliczka is by direct cheap train. At which station do you have to get off the train to Wieliczka to visit the Salt Mines?

The best way to get from the centre of Krakow to Wieliczka, a small town directly neighbouring Krakow, in the immediate vicinity of the famous Salt Mines is to take the train SKA1 from the main railway station located in the Old Town near the Main Square to Wieliczka.

The trains run with great frequency and cost as little as 7 zloty (EUR 1.65; USD 1.69; GBP 1.39). They get to Wieliczka faster than a public transport bus, Uber, Bolt own car or very expensive “private transfers”. You get to Wieliczka in the vicinity of the mine by the same train you take from Krakow Aiport to the centre of Krakow. It is a train operated by Koleje Małopolskie called SKA1.

Booking Salt Mines tickets
In Poland and Europe, tickets to selected attractions are purchased on official websites or at the ticket office on site. Tickets to Salt Mines are on the official website kopalnia.pl, at the ticket office and ticket machines at the entrance.

What station Wieliczka to Krakow?

If we want to return to the centre of Krakow, we take the same train, the SKA1 going through Krakow Glowny station and on to Krakow Airport.

It is worth remembering that this train stops at several stations in Krakow, so if you live further away from the Main Square in Krakow, you can easily get off earlier, for example at the Krakow Grzegórzki or Krakow Zabłocie station.
