Is it worth to book a transfer from Krakow Airport?

Before travelling to Krakow in Poland, many people wonder whether it is necessary to book a transfer from the Krakow Airport to the city centre. Is it necessary to book a transfer from Krakow Airport? Is it worth booking a transfer from Krakow airport?

Transfer from Krakow Airport

The short answer to this question is: it’s not worth it. Krakow’s main and only airport is located 6 miles (9.7 kilometres) as the crow flies from the very centre of the main square, which is the very centre of Krakow.

The airport is very close to the very centre of Krakow and is very well connected to the centre of Krakow. There is no need to incur additional costs as we can get from the airport to the centre of Krakow cheaply by public transport bus or by direct train to the centre of Krakow to main train station in a dozen or so minutes, we can hire Uber and Bolt or pay more for a taxi.

An Uber from Krakow airport to the city centre costs around 40-55 zloty (9.3-13 eur, 8-10.9 gbp, 9.6-13.3 usd). Bolt prices are similar. Taxis will be much more expensive and any transfers may cost even more. The distance to the centre is usually 20-30 minute drive so there is no reason to go for the expensive options.

You can also hire an Uber Black, which costs around 85-90 PLN, but it doesn’t make sense when you can go for practically half that price.

In Krakow, where many attractions prepared for foreign tourists are very expensive (such as a carriage ride), there is no need to overpay for additional services that are not necessarily needed. The train ride from the airport or the Uber and Bolt ride to the rented flat or hotel in Krakow from the airport takes a really short time.

Before deciding whether or not to order such a transfer, it is therefore worth finding out the real prices in order to make the decision on an additional supplement easier.
